Found, Aztec Greatest Gold Treasure!




INILAH.COM, Jakarta - Archaeologists who work under the fog and bad weather in Mexico City found something extraordinary. The scientists believe have found the tomb of Aztec ruler of the possibility of extraordinary wealth.


These findings have not yet disclosed to the public. But England will be the first item that the findings will be exhibited. Fourteen of gold objects from the site, will be displayed at the British Museum in the exhibition Moctezuma II, Aztec ruler of the largest.


There is no doubt that discovery only in one generation, says Colin McEwan, head of the American section of the British Museum.


Excavations carried out in the center of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan. The location was close to the Catedral Metropolitana de la Asuncion de Maria which was built of stone Moctezuma Templo Mayor crushed Spain in 1521.


Time of the temple was missing for nearly five centuries and was found by accident in 1978. Colonial buildings in the vicinity to make exploration difficult, but an earthquake in 1985 reveals a veil for the next excavation. [Ito]
